Indian Navy's Unmanned Remotely Piloted Aircraft Crashes Near Porbandar

An unmanned Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) of Indian Navy crashed in Gujarat on Saturday. The accident happened about 25 kms from Porbandar. No casualties or damage to property caused by the crash, reports said.

The RPA was on a routine surveillance mission when it lost datalink communication with the Ground Station.

In a similar incident, a Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) of the Indian Navy, operating from Porbandar, crashed close to the air base soon after the takeoff on March 22. No injuries or casualties were reported. Engine failure was said to be the reason behind the crash. A Board of Inquiry (BoI) was also set up to probe the cause of the crash.
