BSF recovers China-made drone in Punjab’s Amritsar

Troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a China-made drone in Punjab’s Amritsar district, officials said on Tuesday. They said that the China-made drone was recovered from outside a house in Hardo Rattan village.

The Public Relations Officer, Punjab Frontier, BSF, said in a statement, “On 7th May 2024, based on specific information regarding the presence of a drone in the border area of district Amritsar, BSF troops promptly launched an extensive search operation in the suspected area.” “During the search, at about 12:5 pm, the troops successfully recovered one drone from the outside area of a house in village Hardo Rattan in Amritsar District.

The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic,” the PRO added. Earlier on Sunday, the BSF recovered a drone in broken condition from a harvesting field adjacent to the village Ratan Khurd in Amritsar District. Earlier, on May 5, during the morning hours, an ex-serviceman of BSF residing in a border village of Gurdaspur district informed the BSF intelligence wing about the presence of a drone in the border area.

Based on the information, BSF troops rushed to the spot and carried out an extensive search operation. The search culminated with the recovery of a drone in damaged condition from a farming field near Haruwal in Gurdaspur district.

The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 classic. In its statement, the BSF said, “The reliable information of an aware and law-abiding ex-BSF personnel helped the BSF troops thwart an illicit attempt of drone intrusion from across the border.”

If it was a military drone, it might be helpful. But, these commercial drones can be override. Further where is the contra-band?
